I try to never disregard anyone's work. I analyze it and try to see what it has to offer or what place it holds in relation to the present world of ideas which birthed it (I hope that makes sense). Even an idiot may convey something useful now and again.

The exception may be just outright pretension.

For example: the "poetry" of Rupi Kaur. However not even her work I disregard entirely, that it gained such traction amongst modern women, uneducated though those women are, is indicative of things which, properly understood, may prove useful.

Or take the current PL of the US, Joy Harjo. I dislike her work, for the most part, she is of inferior skill to Tracy K. Smith, her predecessor, but there are still interesting things going on within her poems and a point of view which is unique and definitively American. A voice worth hearing sing for a time.

I dislike racism to an extreme and consider those who view the world in such a manner lazy, shallow thinkers, in general. It is valuable to see Kant's racism (though I haven't read it - I imagine you refer to the work titled, "On the Different Races of Man?"), because it reminds us of the fallibility and imperfection of even a daunting intellect - reminds us there are always objects outside the bounds of our experience and knowledge, and, probably most importantly, it is best to speak humbly of subjects we are not greatly familiar in and not to let our successes in one area over-embolden us in another.
