There are people outside clapping for the NHS. The memes have penetrated reality.

It was really weird driving around last week and just seeing streets and streets of people outside clapping. Also kind of weird when you're like the only guy driving so everyone puts their attention on you. I don't know it's kind of gay and people have been memed into it, but at least there is at least some showing of a sense of community.

I have never had less hope for this country. It seems that this country is filled with old people desperate that everybody younger than them has no fun and pays 200 % taxes for the medical system.

I read Reddit's UK board quite a bit and it is filled with leftists that have seething contempt for anyone that does anything without government approval. It's like I have x-ray vision and can see nothing but contempt for initiative, free will, and independent, first principles critical thinking, which is surrounded by the flabby tax and spend shit they desire.

The government are really totally corrupt now. Huge bailouts without taking any equity. Huge amounts of foreign aid and subsidies for arts and the media.

And we now have a virtual parliament so our decrepit politicians can take part even if they're unfit human waste.

The NHS replaced Anglicanism as our state religion decades ago anon

you should know that pretty much every subreddit of any size is completely controlled by shills. The UK sub is undoubtedly moderated by people actually involved in the UK government, or being contracted by them.

It's tangentially related to the upcoming Deano literary movement

I feel bad about this too. I have no friends, no gf, and there's really nothing good for me to go back to. I was ecstatic when the lockdown was announced, now I just dread going back to normalcy.

I don't understand why life can't just be like this all the time. Only the essential workers should work and the rest of us should be able to chill and do whatever we want. The lockdown proved this model is sustainable.

Normies don't like lockdown, they actually want to go back to 'normal'. Lockdown is going to end by necessity. I already see more traffic on the roads and more people about now, so if it doesn't end officially more and more will just continue to break it anyway. Plus people unironically want to go back to work (not just for income reasons but because these people are bored and can't handle autonomy for more than a few weeks)

the problem has never been with the amount of taxes paid, the problem is the allocation of the money and also just how many public services have been sold off to private enterprises. You know our number of ICU beds per 100,000 pop is one of the worst in Europe? That wasn't always the case, its only over the last decade that serious problems (particularly with transport and health) have started to occur.
