I used to read books about it and they're all full of shit. Women do like status, everything else you could say they look for is reflective of status, including looks, money, and even personality. Every piece of advice anyone will give you about meeting women is a way to increase your value in the social hierarchy by one means or another.

Yes they have a dual mating strategy but it becomes irrelevant if you have any measure of power, because the only men who get victimized by it are the ones with options limited enough to have to settle for a loose woman or who don't have enough power to forestall what should be a predictable event from happening.

I never said I wasn't attractive, but I put in a lot of work to become my current attractive self. I used to hate women so fucking much. They are vain and uninteresting people as a whole. I realized I was chasing this abstraction of a woman that would never love me instead of taking chances on girls I thought were sub par. My gf was not pretty when I found her. She was hairy, short-haired, wore frumpy clothes, and was suicidal. You would have trouble recognising her now from when we first met. I saw someone like me. Someone willing to show themselves. Her childhood was rough, and she was covered in hundreds of cuts down her arms and legs. Other girls were much prettier, but they always felt devoid of something. I realized she had nice assets even if she didn't take care of her self. I put a lot of work in and received even more love from her than I give. It was a big stepping stone for me.
