While it seems to me completely correct that he would put his word as absolute (an desire for full intellectual domination), it does not seem to me that mere domination was his aim. He could have had his mere personal domination either way; he married a noblewoman and Engels was of good standing. Were this his only aim, he would not have needed to go through all that business with terrible poverty, migrating and hiding, using pseudonyms because he would be denied residence and so on.

As a theorist I would like to read, certainly. But not as a friend.
