I mean the Bible is a collection of historical documents, seems a bit weird to say the prophets aren't recorded in history. However, each part of the prophetic books needs to be analysed through a historical lens if we want to talk about their historicity. Daniel chs. 1-6, for example, seems to have a confused view of the exile. In those chapters, Babylon is first conquered by the Medes, lead by "Darius the Mede", however no Babylonian or Persian sources back that up. The stories also appear fanciful with multiple Babylonian leaders accepting Yahweh as their god. So there's a good chance Daniel is legendary and the book isn't a good historical account.

On the other hand you have prophets like Ezekiel who record details about the exile which corroborate with Babylonian records about it. There is also versimilitude from highly specific prophecies about events that can be independently verified, such as Babylon's siege of Tyre (Ezekiel 26). In fact Ezekiel seems to prophecy a successful siege, when in reality the Babylonians never captured the city. It's unlikely this potentially embarrassing prophecy would be invented later so there's a good chance it's genuinely from Ezekiel, or at least contemporary to him.

Why would other nations care for the percieved ramblings of prophets of a religion they don't follow?
