Sometimes I like to imagine Spinoza sitting around, working on his Ethics, when suddenly, a big fat bug crawls out from under his desk. He squeals with delight, tossing his notebook to the floor and pulling out the arena. He had built it using various glass object he had grinded, platforms, even a falling spike trap. He lifts the bug gently into the arena. Out of the small glass castle at the far end, the champion emerges. Spinoza likes to ask his friends to come around for times like these, but they rarely do.
