Does anyone have the post of the math puzzle with a bug on a 1x1x2 box where you have to maximize the minimum path along the surface?

Uhh, I just closed the thread. It would be pretty simple to replicate though.

It's always so funny to see little-minded /lit/ards struggle with this elementary 10th grade problem. "It's B, it's B, it's B, it has to be B!!!!", shouts the brainlet. He wants the reality to conform to his simple mind, to be as simple him, yet the complex reality is left unscathed. The answer is still not B. And anon is still a brainlet. It's poetic really.

without doing any math i'd guess it's by taking the middle route through both the rectangle and the square

if you imagine it unfolded then that would be like the diagonal which would be a straight line

It doesn't explicitly say that the box has 6 sides, so assuming one of the sides is open, that would mean the longest possible route would be from point A to the point diagonal from it on the side facing us, on the INSIDE of the box.

>> No.14929829

>>14929615
That's still wrong. Even in your situation there is a point that is further than the opposite diagonal point.

It is indeed not B. I have a proof for why it is not B and a way to find the area that contains the farthest point. It is somewhere on top along the diagonal from the point above A to B. Might be able to find it in a bit, will post later.
