Plato
Tertullian
Hume
Hamann
Luther
Pascal
Kierkegaard
Kant
James
Wittgenstein
Plantinga

I don’t know much about fideism or these guys, but does this seem accurate for a faithpill chart? Did I miss anyone? Which works should be included?

This is a faith chart isn't it?

you could include a lot of writers, especially theologians, but im thinking a focus on fideism, emphasis on uncertainty, distrust of rationalism, that kind of thing. So which works from those writers do you have in mind?

Aquinas and Aristotle would be in the opposite direction of that. Carlyle fits in somewhat, I'd recommend his Signs of the Times essays. More obscure thinkers like (Pseudo-)Dionysius, Maximus the Confessor, Eriugena, and Lev Shestov may be helpful.

Carlyle definitely fits into that as the other anon said, better than some other anons of your list.

faith wont make god real, god doesnt exist, imagine such minds being duped into fairy tales, really shows that they werent really that smart after all, but i guess they were a product of their time, so you cant really hold it against them, its like boomers now still being racist

I shudder to think of the absolute pseud who would pretend to understand Kierkegaard or Kant, while also reading charlatans who rehash the ontological argument like Plantinga.

What's hard to understand about Kierkegaard? I recommend him as entry tier because he's uniquely comfy for a philosopher.

Hume just wanted to get rationalism out of faith FOR faith's sake as they are two separate things.

He was a protestant who didn't take things too seriously either way. Only midwits think he was an atheist/agnostic

>> No.14897289

>>14897282
Doesn't he explicitly state that he was an agnostic? Plus I don't recall him mentioning God anywhere in his works.

>> No.14897385

This list makes no fucking sense and it seems like you're reading this shit because you're expecting your pre-conceived desired conclusion, which is really fucking stupid and pseudo-intellectual. Stop reading.
