How many times do you read the same book? I've been trying to read as many books as possible this year, but I don't feel like I'm holding on to any of the information. I barely remember characters names and the order of events for the most part. Though I do have a hazy idea of the general order and theme of the books. How many times do you guys generally read the same book?

Reading is about rereading.

Are you bothering to reflect on the text after reading, or just tossing it aside like a used coom rag?

Haven't read any book more than twice. I don't see the point in remembering everything

There’s your problem man. It’s not a race. You need to re-evaluate your goals with your reading. Treating it like a video game speed run will get you nowhere

Disregard the amount of time it takes you to understand each book. No one is peering over your shoulder thinking wow this guy is taking forever. What’s the use of having read 100 books in a year if you can only speak to a handful.

The answer to your question lies with having enjoyed and understood a book to the degree it might warrant revisiting, either for additional enjoyment or a deeper exploration of the themes, etc

That makes sense, if I enjoy a book enough the first time through (or if I feel like I don't understand it at all) I'll read it again.
