Is there any value/enjoyment out of reading Land's Fanged Noumena? I have the necessary reading prerequisites and plan to read #Acceleration but I also don't want to waste my time.

Most of the book, the first half at least, is written in a normal way. That said, Land was (not anymore imo) a quite good prose stylist, especially for an anglophone philosopher. Some of the early essays, and likewise his Thirst for Annihilation, are penned superbly. Pic related, once you get into it, is pretty entertaining too.

That particular text is written in an obtuse way, but it isn't difficult to read. And the majority of the book is written in plain english anyway.

Some of his earlier essays, like the one on poetry and Trakl's rats, are sublime examples of literary/philosophical criticism. Even the essay on cosmic geotrauma, as batshit as it sounds, has a strong intellectual grounding in recapitulation theory and the archeological concept of deep time, its just assembled and arranged that might put you off if you're used to people using scientific concepts with "scientific" rigour
