To be or not to be
Fools fail to see
A world at ease

you will not exhaust all your foes
But if you quell your own anger
your real enemy will be slain

That emptiness is the relinquishing of all views
For whomever emptiness is a view,
That one has achieved nothing

All philosophies are mental fabrications
There has never been a single doctrine
by which one could enter
the true essence of things

and he does not perceive their various misconduct

Alas, the evil man and
Phlegm (mucous) are really alike.
By mildness they are excited
And by roughness (astringent) they are soothed.

A different thing depends on a different thing for its difference.
Without a different thing, a different thing wouldn't be a different
It is not tenable for that which depends on something else
To be different from it.
But if a different thing were different from a different thing,
Without a different thing, a different thing could exist.
But without that different thing, that different thing does not exist.
It follows that it doesn't exist, for a different thing
Depends on a different thing for its difference.
Without a different thing, a different thing wouldn't be a different
It is therefore not tenable for that which depends on something else
To be different from it.

Then do not do these three:
Laying wagers, money transactions,
And speaking privily with women.

What’s a very accessible intro to Nagarjuna’s philosophy? Even if it oversimplifies things, that’s ok. I just want something basic.

Jay Garfield's translation and commentary of his magnum opus (mulamadhyamakakarika) deals with most of this stuff in the simplest way. CW Huntington, Jan Westerhoff and Richard Robinson are also great sources with more background info but their books are probably more extensive for a 'basic' introduction.

Nagarjuna was not a buddhist. Nagarjuna was an indian intellectual turning the buddhist philosophy at the time with the vedas.

Nagarjuna was not a buddhist. Nagarjuna was an indian intellectual casting the buddhist philosophy at the time into the vedas, because indian intellectuals only know the vedas and suck at buddhism.

How can everything be empty of permanent existence?
If samsara is eternal then not everything is empty of permanence
but if samsara is non-eternal then it will end on its own
thus the path of the Buddha would become unnecessary for liberation from samsara
which we don't accept
