Then I would recommend either Jnanadeva's 13th-century commentary the Bhavartha Deepika, or Adi Shankaracharya's 8th commentary on it.

Prabhupada is dvaita vedantist which is monotheistic twist of hinduism that came about in very late period. This guy is getting way too much representation for his work because of hare krishnas, who don't present hinduism, but a bastardized monotheistic spin of it.

You're an idiot. He was a Bengali Vaishnavite, the movement was founded by Chaitanya in the 16th century and worships Krishna as the ultimate Godhead. Dvaita Vedanta is a different school entirely. Devotional Hinduism includes worship of one God as the ultimate, it is entirely normal and accepted practice. The problem with ISKCON isn't their theology but their creepy cultish approach.

bhakti is even propounded by the OG dvaita acharya, madha - who i believe gaudiya vaishnavs like ISKCON claim descendence from iirc.

The best versions are the ones tranated and commented by Shivananda and Yogananda
