There are tons of jobs you could do. Apply to a ton of places that typically require an English degree. One thing that helped me is working jobs on sites similar to Fiverr which I could then use in a portfolio. Good luck, things will work out for you.

i'll be honest and quick and i wont come back to this thread

you need to pick up freelance, or short term gigs through a staffing agency, for copywriting for marketing campaigns or whatever. those WON'T pay your main bills, you may have to get a restaurant job while you build this portfolio. Do THIS for a year or two. seriously. it takes that long. NO ONE will hire you for a serious full-time position fresh out of college. don't let anyone tell you otherwise. unless you have internships or super high GPA to show for anything, it's just a bullshit fact: companies have 30-70 year old miserable slugs who will hate working with a 22 year old who has no experience.

BUILD your resume/portfolio with freelance short term gigs. otherwise, you can take a shitty entry level job but you will hate your coworkers.

ALSO, you might become an alcoholic, but it won't last forever.

good luck.

Why do i do this? Why do i judge people on style? Why is it that we can only signal what we're like this way.
I just assume a tomboy is more likely to like sci fi.

Nah, I got a shit billet, but I now have a solid amount of time to read. Being underway isolates you, forcing you to find something to do during downtime. Some play vidya or cards, while I read and try to lift with the shit “gym” we have onboard. If I could do it all over again I’d join the army and do an intel job, or join the peace corps. I kinda regret it but at least I can get my masters while I’m in or use the GI bill when I get out. The coast guard functions a bit differently from the other branches, especially since it’s DHS and not DoD. Do your research into the military, you’re literally signing your life away for X amount of years.
