... no? Im pretty sure feminists are into women being able to dress however they want. Have you completely missed the whole sexual empowerment thing going on in pop culture.
Please note I am not arguing for or against these things

>> No.14640093

But does sexual empowerment even make sense?
What I’m getting at is a man does not show up flashing his pecs or abs in order to get respect (and if he tried that I imagine he’d be mocked and called out)
She wants respect— she may even deserve it, but why is she engaging in deliberately manipulative visual presentation? Why doesn’t she just, like, talk?

Not at an award show but guys wear wifebeaters for the same reason. Women just have more license to wear whatever

This is still a capitalist world and sex sells.
But, why can’t she talk while naked/half naked?

>> No.14640137

Right but a guy wouldn’t wear a wife beater to an awards show— get my point?

Care to enter the ongoing discourse? It’s only a few posts.
It’s just that unannounced ad hominem like this kind of just comes off as the cry of a sore loser

guys, did you not read that I asked for book suggestions?

>> No.14640242

Obviously there's nothing particularly hypocritical about showing cleavage.

But here's kinda what I mean... assuming a critique of gender calls out her buxomness for what it is, a narcissistic attempt at capturing the male gaze, you still have to deal with other issues. Like the nature of gender conflict... Or why, if we are in a post-sexist world, she would still need to put herself on display to men who hate her... What it means to overcome generational tendencies and the desires of our fathers... etc

in other words, why should she cover her tits as long as she can still use them to make you weak
your weakness is your problem

>> No.14640275

>>14640263
Because I don’t omagine youd advocate similarly taking advantage of the other sides weakness if I was taking advantage of a woman’s physical weakness to physically intimidate her, so all of this complexity amounts to the rationalization of a double standard, thusly being unequal

Master morality helps out of pity and friendly contrarianism, not obligation
