Any books that will help me understand why Hinduism is so conducive to a literal shithole society in contrast to Buddhism?

>> No.14634406

>>14634298
Unironically the Upanishads. Hindu society is an outward expression of their religion and you’ll find lots of justification in their texts.

For example
>Let him meditate on speech as a cow. Her four udders are the words of Svaha, Vashat, Hanta, and Svadha. The gods live on two of her udders, the Svaha and the Vashat, men on the Hanta, the fathers on the Svadha. The bulk of that cow is breath (prana), the calf the mind. -8th Brahmana, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad

>The bulk of that cow is breath
What is the Upanishadic meaning of the excrement of said cow then? Should one meditate on its odour to lead one to having the non-dual realization?

>Now follows the udgîtha of the dogs. Vaka Dâlbhya, or, as he was also called, Glâva Maitreya, went out to repeat the Veda (in a quiet place).
>A white (dog) appeared before him, and other dogs gathering round him, said to him: 'Sir, sing and get us food, we are hungry.' The white dog said to them: 'Come to me to-morrow morning.' Vaka Dâlbhya, or, as he was also called, Glâva Maitreya, watched. The dogs came on, holding together, each dog keeping the tail of the preceding dog in his mouth, as the priests do when they are going to sing praises with the Vahishpavamâna.
>After they had settled down, they began to say 'Om, let us eat! Om, let us drink! Om, may the divine Varuna, Pragâpati, Savitri bring us food! Lord of food, bring hither food, bring it, Om!'

Adi Shankara's commentary on these verses is very enlightening. He says,

>Behold, the dogs knew they were really all Atman, so they joined together in one dog-bundle to prove it. For if going and a goer were conceived as different, there could be going without a goer and a goer without going. If things are not established as the same and as different, how can they be established? That very going by which a goer is made evident does not [enable a goer to] go. Because there is no [goer] before going, who would be going where? [A going] which is other than the going by which a goer is made evident does not [enable a goer to] go. Because it is impossible for going to be twofold within a single goer. One who is a goer does not go in the three aspects of going. Also one who is not [a goer] does not go in the three aspects of going. One who is and is not [a goer] also does not go in the three aspects of going. Therefore, going and a goer and also that which is gone over do not exist.

>Therefore, we must shit on the floor to worship Shiva (who doesn't exist).

>inb4 drinking cow pee
that itself is due to influence from ayurveda homeopathic fags, as opposed to actual religion. The actual atharva veda refers to sprinkling cattle urine upon idols, mostly because urine, especially that from a cow a creature with 3 or 4 stomachs, is a good sterilizing agent.

>"From whatever new points of view the Buddha's system is tested with reference to its probability, it gives way on all sides, like the walls of a well, dug in sandy soil. It has, in fact, no foundation whatever to rest upon and hence the attempts to use it as a guide in the practical concerns of life are mere folly. Moreover Buddha, by propounding the three mutually contradicting systems, teaching respectively the reality of the external world, the reality of ideas only and general nothingness, has himself made it clear that he was a man given to make incoherent assertions or else that hatred of all beings induced him to propound absurd doctrines by accepting which they would become thoroughly confused…Buddha’s doctrine has to be entirely disregarded by all those who have a regard for their own happiness."
