I took the podcast rout with historyofphilsophy.net and got a good overview of the Greek philosophers. Epicurus is my favorite, though the others are interesting.
This is a nice book that ambles through various philosophies and such. You might like it.

If you're a complete newcomer when it comes to philosophy and *not* currently enrolled in a university program on the subject, then YES -- I do recommend Kenny's survey as a historical intro to the subject. That said, I'm not a fan of Anthony Kenny as a philosopher. But his survey gives a fairly neutral glimpse of the offerings on hand. It's like ordering Tapas at a suburban restaurant. You'll get the gist of what's intended, but if interested perhaps seek out the real deal elsewhere.
