So last week I picked up these 5 books for 20 euros.
It's supposed to be a chronological timeline of philosophers.
I'm not sure yet what I'm in for but it seems like it's a compilation of the most known/discussed stories, fragments & ideas from these philosophers and the people they dealth with.
There are a lot more authors and excerpts included in the books than what the cover says but here are the main names the books deal with from start to finish:
Book 1:
Plato
Aristotles
Seneca
Erasmus
Book 2:
Descartes
Spinoza
Rousseau
Book 3:
Kant
Hegel
Mill
Nietzche
Book 4:
Sarte
Adorno
Foucault
Arendt
Book 5:
Derrida
Sloterdijk
Nussbaum

I'm looking forward to spitting through these, although i'm not sure I'll finish all of it cover to cover since you know, I have a life.
Any tips? Things I should look out for? Questions? I can post more pics if requested.
Also, the books are in my main language (Dutch), do you think this will influence the actual content a lot?
I'll translate to english whatever's asked.

I'm sorry anon but that list is so fucking bad.

>So it's really more a history of *some* of the essentials.
I guess, kind of like an overview of their ideas and writings.
>I guess that's just modernity though
Afraid so. Still glad I got this, it's a decent set IMO.
