Do I have to read anything other than Plato before tackling this big-brained fellow?

I have a meme-level of understanding of Hermeticism (I read the kybalion like twice lol) but I am very familiar with the ineffability of The All in my heart.

just don't confuse neoplatonism (which is good) for buddhist nondualism (advaita)

Aristotle. The guy quotes from Aristotle's texts (especially the Metaphysics and De Anima) more often than almost anyone else in the ancient world

You don't really need to read Plato to understand Plotinus. He's pretty straightforward.

Nah, Plotinus wasn't a systematizer like his predecessors, shouldn't be too tedious.
