The most important book in my life as a whole was probably the late 80s edition of The Greatest Batman Stories Ever Told. Would never have gotten into reading as a child and continued as a teen and adult without it.

I needed a book like that at the age I read it. Mostly because it said all problems I had out loud and showed general direction to deal with them.
Also Stoner. Stoner is less age-dependent.

Yet to read Laws, which will only make it even higher.
And yes this is a complete answer because all the dialogues are interconnected and designed to have the structure from introductory (Meno, Ion, Alcibiades) to irrefutable scripture of divine inspiration (Philebus, Phaedrus, Timaeus). There's no "early" and "late" Plato, any apparent development is minor or from misinterpretation. And yes Plato didn't directly write all of them, but the majority of them were either co-written by Plato (like First Alcibiades) or Written during the period of the Old Academy after his death, meaning they were guided by Plato's unwritten doctrines (like Minos or some of the Letters).

The Book of Five Rings by Miyamoto Musashi.
Anyone who has seriously crossed swords with over 100 people in a unique environment that allowed it to happen in the first place and with the balls to actually sit down in the last year of his life and pinpoint exactly how he survived is worth listening to. And he's particularly easier to sympathize with because he's humble and a warrior for himself, he's not a chief or an army general.

Wallace Stevens's collected poems forced me to become a poet. It also made me realize that so much contemporary American poetry references Stevens, perhaps moreso than anyone else, including Eliot. According to my best teacher, Stevens is "a toxic influence," and that's a compliment--he dwarfs us all.

Most of the epistles are super repetitive and boringly theological. The gospels also tend to be super repetitive and the allegories are already commonly known enough to not have to read and re-read them, unless you're particularly interested.

Read Mark.
Read John.
Read Luke.
Read Romans.
Read Ephesians.
Read James.
Read Revelations.

All other new testament books and letters you can put aside for later.
