Which copy of Shankara's Commentaries on the Upanishads should i look for? I'm interested in reading both the foundational texts and the Advaitic commentary, but the edition from 1957 (8 Upanishads) seems incomplete, lacking both the Chandogya and Brihadaranyaka Upanishad.

I would recommend getting the 8-part translation by Gambhirananda from 1957, it's a really nice set of commentaries and it also contains Gaudapada's Mandukya Karika and Shankara's commentary on it. The Chandogya and Brihadaranyaka are large commentaries around 600-700 pages each and so you have to buy them as individual tomes. Gambhirananda has a translation of the Chandogya commentary which is excellent and Madhavananda has one of the Brihadaranyaka which is also good. If you buy those three items viz the 8-part series (in vol. 1 & 2) and Brihadaranyaka/Chandogya then you'll have all of Shankara's Upanishad commentaries that are considered to be authentic by scholars. Gambhirananda also has a translation of Shankara's commentary on the Svetasvatara Upanishad which is not considered to be authentic but I bought it anyway and it looks good from what I've read of it. There are supposed to few additional commentaries by him on minor Upanishads but from what I understand these are not thought to be authetic either.

Not him but I'm guessing he's got some good advice on the matter. He's probably also a very intelligent and beautiful person, and has the potential to become a millionaire by virtue of his knowledge on spiritual matters alone. Then again, I wouldn't know, since I am not him, absolutely not.
