Bio-cybernetics using semi-synthetic mycelium. It’s the more elegant path.

Memorization is a meme; your mind only remembers what's import and forgets what's not. However, if you want to remember shit just remember: (1) you remember less from reading (2) you remember more from writing and taking notes and (3) you remember the most when you teach it.

On a neurological level, it is recurrent hippocampal and cortical connections, but there are also more complex dynamics on local levels too.
On a metaphysical level, we don't know. Read Henri Bergson or something, idk.

Your memory itself cannot be improved but you can use certain techniques to use your memory better. I highly recommend Moonwalking with Einstein, it's not instructional but it'll give you a good understanding of how we understand memory and its limitations.

To improve your memory, frequent repetition is the key. Make a list of words each week to learn and repeat it often. Learning roots may prove useful too.
