We only become aware of our own behavior when it becomes important to others. Then, it enters into what we call “knowing”. Some of us learn control, more or less by accident. >People know how to learn new things
>a person who earnestly attempts to improve in an area they are deficient in will make some degree of progress in that area
>a person who backslides has the will to recoup the lost gains and keep pushing forward
>a person is capable of improving their ability to perform an action through practice
>problems are always accumulating at a faster rate than one can fix them but by taking iterative steps to mitigate the problems most borthersome to you you can find meaning in life and define who you are as a person
>A person’s problems may be a result of their environment but they always have the capacity to make their lives marginally better

It’s not just you and god, you’ve got me on your side, trying to help and find the good ones like you and bring them to a better life. This is why I like the doctrine of Calvinism in its predestination and belief that only the elected will be saved, because it’s seemingly faith and destiny that you are able to become aware of your surroundings, that you know and understand the difference between inherent good and evil. There’s much good in you, I can sense this in your post. Hopefully you do well and spread this positivity to others around you, and show them the Light.

The stranger is about refusing societal expectations with the knowledge that they’re just constructed anyways. It’s about acting based on your feelings from the pov of a protagonist that’s disconnected from his own.

It’s a completely different type of self destruction than notes, notes is directly self destructive with its alcohol consumption and it’s purposefully done to spite the universe, whereas the stranger’s destruction comes largely as an accident and because of the opinions of others on his actions.

I’d rec notes if you’re a hedonist and the stranger if you’re impulsive and slightly unscrupulous, if you refuse societal morals for your own. They both cover the same theme from different directions, notes is about the introspection of someone doing this and the stranger from how that individual’s perceived.

The Bible is a guideline for getting you to understand the way God works, and how to help achieve peace for yourself and bring it others. The Protestant take is highly unfavorable among many of you because it undertakes the reasoning that hard work and dedication to making use of your limited time, something contradictory to the more idle lifestyles so many prefer in the post-atomic age.

some things are genuinely insurmountable at least for a certain amount of time like an abusive parent or some severe mental disorder like schizophrenia and not enough money to get serious psychologist treatment in America. just the pills that stop the voices, for a copay of course. it's like the way to treatment is to achieve, but achieving is so hard because of the way you think, and it's impossible to stop some thoughts or disorders alone. but oh yeah your disorder pushes people away hard.
