Hegel philosophy is not based, as hegelians would have you believe, on rational logical process.

Rather, so called "Hegelian Dialectic" is a manipulation, a vile corruption, of logic and the socratic method. Hegel's entire metaphysics and phenomenology is based upon semi-spiritual conjecture and mysticism - Hegel is representative of the corruptive influence of catholic philosophy on the general character of western thought.

Hegel's nigh religious interpretation of the kantian noumena leaves a stain on western philosophy, a stain that was not to be removed until the development of logical empiricism in the early 20th century.

Fuck Hegel.

There are two kinds of people:
The ones who actually read Hegel.
And those who make threads about him.

>> No.14213303

I think he makes up terms as he goes. I can't understand him. It might be because i'm reading it like a normal book, but the way he talks seems like h'es bullshitting.

>> No.14213326

>>14213303
Most of his terms are normal German words or compositions of such. Often he insists upon original meanings and etymology, which only makes one wonder how based the not-so-awful German language really is.

>> No.14213347

>>14213326
Actually 99% of his terminology comes from Aristotle, St. Thomas, Kant, Fichte and Schelling, scholastic jargon was still the standard in his times.
The guy you're responding to must have never read any of these philosophers>>14213326

Catholic hegel, even catholic influence on him, sure. Wait, what?

Hegel was btfo on that front by Bolzano. Logical empiricism is just as trash as Hegel.

OP here.

To clarify my claim about catholic influence on Hegel:

Catholic obsession with virtue, contrary to the rational virtue of plato and aristotle, is obsessively focused around the veneration and imitation of Christ. This Christ-worship, which inevitably entails collectivism, is extremely influential in Hegel's metaphysics, as well as his examinations of art and other cultural phenomena. Hegel's philosophy presents itself as religion - although Hegelian philosophy stems from assertions made be earlier, more legitimate philosophers such as Kant, Hegel nevertheless succumbs to christian spiritualism, which, in a noumenonic sense, is monolithic and irrefutable.
