Keep reading. Best case scenario you find enlightenment or salvation or some shit. Worst case scenario you read more and maybe got a paper cut. Middle scenario you learned about what others believe/believed and the intricacies of religious texts and maybe learned something about what you really believed along the way.

When is the next chapter?

>> No.14147941

Religion requires initiation.

Someone who's always away from it won't understand it until they encounter it. Then the intellect {not intelligence} will connect to the perennial truth of religion.

All religions are easy to understand. Someone, either a prophet, or a poet, claims he has knowledge of the subjects that are unknowable. He claims he knows these because they were supernaturally revealed to him. Now you either accept what he says and will have faith in him, or you require proof in order to believe in anything, in which case religion is not for you.

I get that you don't like religion, but don't stifle people's interests. You always uphold yourself as a more reasoned person than most of /lit/, but whenever religion gets brought up, you turn into a beast just like the rest of us.

I just answered the question. Honestly, if he’s having trouble following it, for fun, why continue?
We get dozens of conversion threads a day. All this shit is head poison.
Enjoy

>I just answered the question
Yeah because calling religion bullshit and a con is "just answering a question". You can have an interest in religion without believing it, many religious scholars are atheists. No one's legitimately trying to convert OP; even >>14147941 is just saying that religion is difficult to understand when regarded from the ivory tower and not viewed directly. There's a lot of reasons one might be curious about religion whether they believe in it or not, religion has affected every human culture in some way, and I don't think it's right to just shut someone's interest in something like that down.
