The thing is, back in the days before the Christposters, the philosophy pseuds and the /pol/tards, the quality of content on /lit/ still wasn't high. The board was rampant with namefags spouting undergraduate left-ish opinions, and the shitposting quotient was just as high.

If you want a taste of what it was like, just read Butterfly's posts; she was around during that time.
