I dont understand why people think women have it easier.

If its because a woman finds it easier to be desired by the opposite sex regardless of her attractiveness, that doesnt necessarily make life easier. Being desired sexually and only sexually makes for lonely, empty feelings. Being idealised or put on a pedestal can make you feel dehumanised. Men can experience this just as much as women, and it hurts just the same. Women having a higher chance of being in this position does not mean they live life in the easy lane.

If its because society is becoming more female centric, I would point out that a lot of the recent philosophies are damaging to women. Being encouraged to be promiscuous, have abortions, avoid children, avoid marriage etc. are all dangerous things and are making women miserable. Women were living healthier, happier lives when their freedom was more restricted (despite the turmoil involved in being so restricted of freedom). Women have yet to find a healthy place in society.

And then theres the pressure of beauty, which begins as an early teen and lasts the whole life. Men usually grow more attractive as they age. Women live with a constant anxiety over it. That, and the pressures of reproduction.

I dont believe either sex has it harder , but i dont see any reason to suggest women have it easier

Career pressure is now a big thing for women too. I'm friends with a girl who is more than a bit of a workaholic, and she's perpetually miserable. Gets like 4 hours of sleep a night, almost no friends, no relationship, etc. She is certainly very lonely.

I also think that women might have it hard in that they have to be the "gatekeepers", that is to say, they have to filter partners. It must be an awkward position to be a woman and have your friends express romantic interest and not yielding.

I know none of you will care to help me but I need somewhere to vent about the pain I carry as a woman.
