We're on day 4, you lazy, good for nothing fags. Have you started writing? Have you been actively writing each day? What's your current word count?

Bonus: Tell us about your completely retarded, half-baked idea so some 200 IQ zoomer with a (((connection))) to a publishing house can steal it and be heralded as the voice of his generation.

>> No.14109533

First time attempting this and I'm at about 5000 words. Day 4 is apparently when people start falling off. I have only a very vague idea about how anything I write is going to tie together and I'm dreading the moment when it starts falling apart, but it's fun so far.

I'm at a bit over 5,000 words myself, which is about on target if you aim to write around the same amount each day of the month. I have a concise, but I think solid outline, though, and I'm starting to get excited about the direction of my story. There's one setting change I have coming up that will be tricky, but it should pick up a lot after because I'll start getting more characters in.

If you're already starting the month nearly done with the 50k words, don't stress the "NaNoWriMo" thing. It's all a self-guided experience, so you can skip a day or whatever and it doesn't really matter. The only thing is, every day you do put in time writing is more practice and habit-building. Not everything has to be good, but just try what you can, play around with ideas, see what you can do, what you need to learn, etc.

Random question for something I'm writing at the moment. I'm writing a scene in which a solo mercenary in a car chase through the desert, pursued by two cars full of angry militia who will kill him if they catch him. The mercenary is waiting on a gunship to arrive an rescue him. He is being watched over by a drone that is sending live footage to his command centre, where a woman is warning him about things going on around him that he can't see, while also communicating with the gunship on it's way. Bearing in mind the woman has feelings for the man and is more or less helpless as she watches him crash, crawl to cover and slowly be surrounded by militia.

Which perspective is more interesting? The man on the ground with his limited POV, or the woman in the air with the bird's eyes view of everything.

Some people are willing to read it but you're missing the point. The purpose of this is force yourself to write 50K in a month. Getting involved with other people helps keep you accountable and gives you support along the way. Editing, revision, and publishing come after. It's essentially just a way to get you writing within a time limit so you have to get over your perfectionism and get it all out.
