I have never read a book twice. What about you?

>> No.14029656

I read To Kill A Mockingbird once in fifth grade then needed to read it again for AP English in highschool just off the top of my head. And there are a lot of books in middle school I autistically reread a lot.

>> No.14029661

I've read A Farewell to Arms twice, and I've reread the Platonic dialogues.

In a second read of a book you really enjoyed, you'll often find that it strikes you differently than the first time through.

I’ve read a few books twice. The Brothers Karamazov was so excellent that I immediately began re-reading it after I finished it. I re-read 1984 after high school because I wanted to see if i could get something more out of it. I re-read Big Sur after reading On the Road to see if the added context helped the enjoyment. Tortilla Flat i’ve read 6 times now, it’s my comfy book, takes me out of a bad mood quickly. I can usually read it in the span of one or two days. I don’t know what it is, but it always makes me feel great. For the most part though I don’t re-read books, It’s always easier for me to read something for the first time. I’m yet to tackle any of the massive meme novels that almost require multiple readings to fully understand though.

I've read Suttree twice.

I've re-read a couple books but there are too many other new books I want to read so it makes the prospect of going back and re-reading something an activity I'm less inclined to do. But there are certainly are books I'd like to go back to, Gravity's Rainbow for example feels like a text I need to return to at some point down the line.
