Has anyone here read Denial of Death, by Ernest Becker? What did you think about it?

It's pretty good imo, he just missed the notion that most people satisfy their hero project by procreating. He went pretty far but I think there is further to go.

Does he accept that any hero project is legitimate or philosophically sound? Does he advance one? If not does he give good reasons to dismiss the hero concept?

Seems like it could be a lazy psychological effort that seeks to bracket off serious philosophical questions and only study human motivation in isolation without questioning our place as beings within an ontology.
