Yes, ideology does follow a path toward survival of the fittest. Networks tend to do this too. (Oldest networks and ideologies tend toward survival, before being black swanned by God) But their constituent parts do not always organize themselves hierarchically, which is why it’s important to read anarchists, especially if you want a view of hierarchy outside the POV of ideologies which have dominated human thought
