he lived with different mindsets at different times. he was very physically sick sometimes and sometimes joyously healthy. arguably he lacked self-knowledge and argued conflicting, contradictory points depending on how he felt at the time or what he'd recently observed or experienced.

deleuze's essay on nietzsche is pretty interesting. it could be helpful to view nieztsche as a biography rather than a system or school of thought, whose brilliance came from his feeling for a life-force interacting with the constructions of the mind
