Why are journalists hated?

Journalists will mis-represent facts or straight up lie to create a more shocking headline. They get more traffic for posting controversial bait than they do for posting respectable articles. Media corporations have agendas and are rarely ever impartial.

Because a lot of them do a bad job, if not a pointless one. They'll write what're essentially big internet comments, but see them as so fucking important that they have publish them on giant media platforms. It perpetuates this obnoxious pundit/zinger culture we have, adds a bunch of fluff for me to sift through, while being all around booring. This doesn't describe all articles, but it's articles of this type that cause people to lose faith in journalism as a whole. Any further sabotage to the field is a product of the weak point these mistakes have created.

Hegel and Marx were both journalists

They’re untrustworthy agents of disinformation

Because most of them are partisan hacks with less integrity than the cockroaches that live underneath your refrigerator

I don't hate journalists, but I don't hate vermin either, and I still put out traps for rats.

In short, its a very vapid form of literature.

They've become organs of ideological dissimulation. They seek out stories that support their agenda.
I knew one such "journalist" personally and she was the most self-righteous, opinionated hack I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. Absolutely no journalistic standards whatsoever.

Read pic related. Journalism has destroyed the public sphere and meaningful political participation in general.

This is the true answer, journalism is currently a disgrace to itself.

Basically, narrative focus eclipsed objectivity. Combine that with deregulation of networks and removal of political content restrictions and you have a primetime shitshow recipe

I don't hate them, but I recognize that they're usually chomping at the bit to spin something into a dramatic headline. Some journalists do their job, but most that any of us will come into contact with are both not strong writers and also tend to be shoving an agenda now-a-days. Their audience is largely people who aren't willing to research stuff for themselves, which should tell you a lot.
