because you perceive it and you can interact with it. there needs to be a reality for your consciousness to be aware of, consciousness cannot just exist in nothingness.

Remember your mind is only the product of the interaction between something come out of your mother's vagina and the minds and actions of othe people. You're made of your environment and of your relatives (that includes non-blood relatives as well).

Almost every opinion, thought, way of speaking or reasoning you have is mediated by, a reaction to, or/and measured against an outcome or a person exterior to you. You might deny they have ontolgical substance, but can you really be sure you have substance yourself ? Some people have persuasively argued the self is but an illusion.

What is incontestable is that, illusion or not, the only life you have access too is the self (and the things supporting the self) being in constant interaction with other apparent selves and their environment.

TL;DR: Stop being an autist and be aware of the basis of your own life. Then live that life according to that basis. Also talk more to people, and actually listen to them.
