Why haven't you read the Pensées yet?

Becuase I have other things on my plate and I'm confident that whatever qualifier bullshit he has about god is still only sentimental and easily rejected by people of sense (me).

I have read bits and pieces and loved every single one of them, but I've not yet read the whole thing (and I don't have it with me right now)

It's a short book with a wager and sentimentality. I expect no special insight. I'll probabaly read it in the next year or two and be vindicated in this.

If I had lots of time I might even read Kierkegaard too, the better to reject him from a position of knowledge, but life is too short.

I feel secondhand embarrassment, I can only hope that you one day realize how wrong you are
life being *too short* is precisely why you should read the Pensées immediately
oh, and do read Kierkegaard, he's brilliant
