I had a feeling I'd get that response but unironically none of those are challenging writers. Calvino is lovely and artful but stripped down; Sacks just says "vicissitude" and "novelistic" too often; DFW is voluminous and uses made up words occasionally but mostly is just like a casual conversation with a reasonably educated person. What were you expecting, that warrior cat series? We're talking about light -but- good.
