Belief in the unfalsifiable is outdated. Human sacrifice just follows as being outdated for that reason. Human sacrifice and abortion are not the same, because the desired result of one is verifiable. One doesn't have to make value judgements about life to understand that murder is generally undesirable enough to warrant a social contract that discourages it.

Consider the modern phrase "toxic masculinity" and what it actually means in our increasingly feminist society.
No virtue which could be labeled as masculine is masculine anymore, mass produced culture has told everyone that there is nothing that women cannot do: "I am woman, hear me roar."
