What are you reading right now?

Back to reading for the first time in a while with The Divine Comedy.

I like it quite a bit, but it was a pain to get past the introduction of 100+ pages that I thought would be helpful, but was probably unnecessary.

Yes, it's great. I've got Gustave Dore's illustrations to scroll through as I read, and everything just comes through the pages so beautifully. Interesting to see Dante reacting to seeing pre-Christian "heroes" in Hell, especially poets and people he respected.

Greg Egan's "Permutation City" on my phone

Michael Shea's collected Nifft the Lean on my pad

can't find my glasses, so no paper book reading atm

those illustrations are magnificent. My favorite parts of the comedy were the beginning and the purgatory section, but the hell did have this very dreamlike quality associated with what you mention about seeing all the dead famous figures of the past.

I just reread Faust, too. After that I'll go through Paradise Lost and Divine Comedy.
Also, as someone who only recently went through the bible, I might look at Arthurian stuff, finally, but I'm not sure where to start at all here, if I should read Celtic myth, etc.

I am attempting to read Augustine’s Confessions in my spare time while preparing for university physics and mathematics as I have not done any work in those subjects in two years.

Evola's Mystery of the Grail is actually pretty good for Arthurian legend, and he cites some good works about it, like Le Morte D'Arthur and Parzival. Should be a good starter pack.
