Face it. Philosophy is outdated and will soon be replaced by science it is useless. All philosophy can do is ask (wrong) questions it Is science that actually solves things for us and serves humanity. Once we figure out how the brain woris epistemology wont be needed, and once physics advances metaphysics wont be needed. Philosophy AND art and literature and useless for humanity and don't do anything for humanity. All they amount to today is self help basically...but you might as well read actual self help instead. You would do well to drop both of those and pick up a science to do something useful for humanity and be fufilled with yourself instead of poisoning your mind with pessimistic philosophy and literature. We live in the great time of yet there is no reason to be pessimistic you "doomers" are just doing the wrong things.

Yes it's easy to picture dystopic technological societies, and it'd be nice to return to nature Uncle Ted-style, but seeing as industry and technology will most likely be here to stay, what does the best possible outcome look like?
What the ideal religion to guide scientific progress? Is Star Trek's magical post-scarcity communism?

Replace philosophy, ontology and epistemology by mathematics and you got it, philosophy outside of mathematics is basically irrelevant for science.
And no, the philosophy of science isn't really relevant to science itself, its a nice hobby project, but that doesn't make it relevant.

Lot's of outdated views on philosophy here. Philosophy since the 20th century has become more than trying to solve mere epistimological issues or a search for "truth." It has taken up a mixture of political theory, ecology, aesthetics, economics, cultural critique, literary theory, etc. It is because everyone and mostly stemfags are philosophically illiterate that we are in the issues we are in today. I recommend reading the following to keep up with the times: Deleuze, Marx, Whitehead, Foucault, Adorno, Benjamin, Stengers, and so on. Philosophy is very much a creative endeavor and should be seen as such. "The diagnosis of becomings in every passing present is what Nietzsche assigned to the philosopher as physician, physician of civilization or inventor of new immanent modes of existence."
