Is this chart a good way to get into philosophy?

Honestly fuck the charts. Start with the five dialogues then explore Plato then move onto Aristotle. No need to fuck around with the other cucks

No, it's not. Start with John Rawls and work your way up to Wittgenstein.

ya familiarize yourself with plato and aristotle, you can ignore aristotle's works on physics, politics, rhetoric and poetics if you're not into that. Afterwards you can move onto the neoplatonists (proclus & damascius) or the scholastics which are just platonism and aristotleanism more flesh out, until the dawn of modern philosophy that shifts away from the paradigm of classical theism. If you really want a shortcut to modern philosophy just read Feser's 'Scholastic Metaphysics' so you know were the rationalists and proceeding modern philosophers are reacting against are coming from

That chart is shit. If you want to study Greek Philosophy then you need Readings in Ancient Greek Philosophy by Cohen, Curd and Reeve. Then if you enjoy that get Plato's Complete Works but not Aristotles. Aristotles Complete Works is much larger and much less readable and better to be read depending on the interest you may have. Plato's works form one cohesive philosophy based on the tetralogies.

Following that the typical academic approach to teaching Philosophy is to start with Descartes and then move on to Kant and from there you develop the aptitude for the subject and you can explore yourself. You become familiar with the method of acquiring or inducing the knowledge required to read whoever you want to read.

This chart is a waste of time. You will forget as much as you remember if not more. The only secondary sources here that I would possibly recommend is Wallis' Neoplatonism.

It's better. You don't even need to start where it tells you nor do you need to read Iliad and Odyssey if you're only interested in Philosophy you can just start at Early Greek Philosophy.

The Pre-Socratics are all laid back reads, not difficult at all but definitely valuable. Plato often refers back to their ideas.

Thucydides and Herodotus are also good reads if you're interested in History as a subject.

Hmm. This guide recommends cutting down even further than this streamlined version.

That's way to much dude. Start with Allan Bloom's translation of The Republic and his interpretive essay. Expand based on what interests you.

Don't listen to this faggot. Read both as they are peak literature and still hold up today as some of the best books you will ever read. Helped shape the minds and spirits of early Greek life.

Start with Descartes. Go back to the Greeks once you’re comfortable with him.

This board is retarded. Don’t listen to start with the greeks fags.
Read whatever you think sounds interesting. If you don’t understand it, read books that the book in question references. The History Of Political Philosophy is a great reference book to help as well.
Learning the right way means nothing if you’re bored to tears slogging through shit you don’t care about and quit.
