Write a book about a man who goes out of his way to write a book that is somewhat original and how people end up seeing hints of other works all throughout his piece because of the way we express ourselves through art.

Consider the following: Anna Karenina is primarily about a woman who has an affair and regrets it and a wealthy aristocrat who marries a teenage girl. Paradise Lost is an embellished biblical story. Ovid's Metamorphoses are literally rip-offs of Roman myths which are in turn rip-offs of Greek myths. These are examples of good literature because their authors are brilliant, not because they're about something cool. If you gave me the plot outline of Anna Karenina the best I'd be able to come up with is some cuckolding smut. A story doesn't have to be original as long as its beautiful, thoughtful, and well-written.
