It's pretty damn comfy. Sadly it's been so hot that i can't really do it. In fact i can't really find a new comfy spot to read. It's always so hard to read in the heat.

Reading with cat in lap

Don't read in bed, you'll learn to associate reading with sleep. Unless you don't care about retaining anything and just want something to sleep.

Never heard of that, but you still shouldn’t do it for the same reason you should never do anything but sleep (or, fine, fuck) in bed, because you begin to associate it as a place for activities rather than one for sleep. It’s THE leading reason for insomnia. When you get in bed, no books, no internet, just go the fuck to sleep. If something occurs to you that requires google or any mental exertion, get out of bed to do it.

Your memories are consolidated during sleep (which is why you may often dream about the things you read before you sleep). Adequate sleep is essential for efficient retention of new memories but I'm not sure if proximity to the time of sleep has any effect.
