Stoicism is based on the belief that man can perfect himself, in Christianity you have to depend on God to make you perfect.

This isn't true. The Abrahamic and stoic beliefs work quite well together, so much so that Seneca was highly praised by early Christian theologians, and mind you, he too believed in the necessity of man's harmony with God's Will as the mode of attaining said "perfection". Christianity does not claim God will simply perfect you without any work on your behalf. The christian makes the conscious effort to sacrifice the will of his ego for the Will of God, and likewise does the stoic, and essentially anyone who wishes to attain peace in life, whether they know it or not.
