this. i put it off forever because i thought it was going to be some shitty self-help book. once i actually gave it a chance, i realized there were more than a few ideas that i was able to absorb and adapt for my own use. i ended up getting his book on seduction, afterwards. green eggs and ham, my dude.

I listened to this on audiobook while working on a thesis exhibition over the course of several nights alone in the studio. I've actually used it more in my life than most books. As far as competing with other people for perceived power goes, this book dead ass helped me make the moves to be making 120k a year at 22. This isn't the only book I use a lot, but it's a part of the bigger picture.

>> No.12917221

In my personal experience this book is by far one the most controversial book ever to be written. Having said that this one of my favorite and interesting books I have ever read. However the problem lies with retards picking up the book and not understanding what is truly being said and stated. This is not a book for the average nigger this book is not for everyone. It's called the Machiavellian Bible for a reason

One is a complete beta
Both use it in an unsophisticated manner and probably read it literally. This is the biggest problem with normal people reading things they shouldn't.

>> No.12926420

Op u ain't seen nothin yet. Guarantee you'd shid your panties reading this. In my experience these kinds of books have some good nuggets of advice but you have to interpret and apply them in a certain way in order to not come off as a completely manufactured sociopath when trying it out IRL. I personally feel the tactics in books like 48 Laws, How to win friends, Psychopath's bible etc are too insincere for to me apply in any situation but pure hardcore business environments or when I'm dealing with soulless, manipulative, vampire bug people that I'm comfortable with writing off permanently (collectors, teachers, thots, single moms lmao Lol etc). If those reading these books really do have poor social skills then it wouldn't be wise to rely entirely on the books for simple relational interactions and I highly advise against use of the methods in more intimate relationships considering that with enough time spent with another human being their personalities are slowly revealed more and more which, other than financial issues, is part of the reason for divorce. You'd essentially be living a lie with your significant other for the rest of your life. I do suggest reading books like King, Warrior, Magician, Lover and Way Of The Superior Man which are not manipulative and will help you better yourself as a man. But again take the information and apply it in a way that works for you.

Machiavelli is quite literally the most misunderstood/falsely summarized author in existence.

For some reason political philosophy is full of those. People summarize Rousseau as if he advocated against civilization. People summarize Smith as if he were some libertarian against all taxes.

I mean, it's like no one fucking reads their actual works and gets a basic summary from Wikipedia. Anyone who does that, ANYONE, should not participate in any discussion about them until they've read their works. Keep your opinions to yourself until you've explored the written word of the men themselves. JFC
