Any other books like this? Is this bad taste? I want to get back into reading but I can't find anything that interests me as this one did.

oooh my. I read this book for junior year as group for my class. It was interesting and dare "autistically" interesting (pun intended lol).
This isn't bad tastes anon, if we take it that you are a contemporary genre reader.
The only book I can think of that is similar to (I haven't read it) is Flowers for Algernon.
And dare I say it, The Sound of the Fury Benji's chapter (this recommendation isn't real, but the other one is).
