I sneer because I used to do a lot of that and have learned that to keep your level of progress in functional strength you have to invest too much of your weekly time. Not only that, but as you go higher with the level of strength you want, the amount of time and dedication you need to put into it actually climbs exponentially. In other words, diminishing returns. I came to realize that the human body is biologically designed to be resource-efficient and resource-economical. Unfortunately a body with more mass will have a higher nutritional upkeep cost.
