Not this guy, but in case you do not understand this, the files may still be on the HDD - just without the partitions. They may still be recoverable with a program that can find the files and replace the partitions. Since the partitions are gone, the open sectors are free to be overwritten if you use the computer - eliminating your files forever. Do like anon says if you really care.

SSDs break too, and without a chance of recovering your data unlike in HDDs. About two years ago, out of nowhere my computer's SSD stopped working completely. My computer would turn on and not be able to find any disk. I spent a couple months booting off an external drive until I got a replacement, and afterwards I tried to connect my original SSD as an external drive and it showed up as having 0 bytes.
