how to distinguish between being really smart vs thinking you are very smart and how to stop being delusional about anything just see things how they are no matter how bad they might be

Let's talk

It's very obvious when you're smart, everything is easy and everyone tells you you're smart, even some guy you work with for a day will remark on it. There are millions of people like this and it's completely unremarkable, it's just being in the top 1 or 2 percent of the population

As for seeing things how they are that's more about realizing your desires and fears and how they skew your understanding of reality.

Generally speaking you know the answer to these questions, you know you are just some faggot, because if you were something special it would be evident.

If you look at what the world gives you without bias, you become genuinely interested in peaceful debate, take some time to formulate your own theories, but do not take them for fact, instead, improve yours with aspects from other's perspectives, or disregard or findings as false, either way, if you arent mentally retarded and you do this until you die, when you die I think it's safe to call yourself smart, I apply this to myself leniently, but I dont care if I'm smart, I just care if I know enough, and enough is never enough, so I guess I'll never be smart

If everyone around you seems dumb, it's most probably you.

But how is one to know these people are not simply taking pity on your lack of intelligence by calling you intelligent?

NEVer said that.
What if you are surrounding your self with dumb people only to think you are smarter than everyone else?

>when you're smart, everything is easy...
That's not right. The intelligent simply engage in more difficult and profound challenges. Or, if they avoid difficult challenges, they may be haunted by the awareness that they are not challenging themselves.

>>12797939
Thinking you are very smart is normal for people of all intelligence levels, presumably. It's not a coincidence that, as time goes on, the less intelligent become more convinced of their intelligence while the truly intelligent become humble and uncertain of their intelligence.

As for avoiding delusion and seeing things clearly, this takes balance and discipline. You need to be able to recognize the things people do out of fear or habit, and avoid those things in a conscious and intentional manner. Unintelligent people are very unlikely to recognize the things that repeatedly cause them problems. I see it all the time: people engage in toxic entitlement, complaint, drama, or binging and never pause to ask themselves why THEY keep experiencing these unpleasant things.
