Marxist Guidebook rule #3475: Anything that makes leftists look like idiots or sociopaths is to be blamed on neoliberalism while secretly agreeing with it.

>> No.12659737

>>12659719

all of his work is literally just "the superstructure conforms to the base" + dick joke + pop culture reference

then drizzled with lacan

that's it, that's all he does. Once Deleuze reminded everyone that Spinoza rendered Hegel irrelevant, and once Guattari reminded everyone Lacan was a hack, Zizek's career was basically over.

No one worth listening to takes him seriously.

Sorry, anon.

I mean is he a charlatan when he seems to be quite honest with what he is: a funny meme for college students? He does write some attempted serious essays and stuff but they're usually plainly presented as dumb "thought pieces" in the Guardian or whatever, rather than dense tomes of pretentious grandeur. Hardly a false presentation of who he is.

Ziz is against most postmodern conclusions, and he's a regular marxist, not a neo- one. >>12659746 is also correct.

He's a Marxist Leninist that uses Lacanaian psycho analytics. Like how Peterson is a Conservative Capitalist who uses Jungian psycho analytics. Postmodernism is a different tradition, Neomarxism isn't a thing. I'm pretty sure it's meant to conflate Critical Analysis and the Marxist Analysis that inspired it. For all the bemoaning that he's misinterpreted by the media, JPB basically dis- and reassembles philosophies in the least charitable cabalish ways to both have any lineage he wants and any ideas he wants.

When you read his mainline philosophical texts rather than his popular political books you get the impression that Marx doesn’t really play a major role in his philosophical thought. It’s more that he just sees himself as being in the left tradition, rather than being a philosopher who grounds himself on Marx.

It’s why people get pissed when he makes political points, they are more often then not points he derives from Lacan, rather than Marx, so they seem at odds with what good sensible Marxists ought to believe

Can we take a second to address that the prefix “bro” is dead, let’s just agree it’s over. Women writing snide hit pieces under the guise of intelligent analysis can just let it die. The archetype of the jock doesn’t even exist anymore and just because Chadwick didn’t take you to the prom so you stayed home listening to taking back Sunday doesn’t mean we should all suffer.

>And, to go even a step further, is the practice of fist-fucking not the exemplary case of what Deleuze called the "expansion of a concept?" The fist is put to a new use; the notion of penetration is expanded into the combination of the hand with sexual penetration, into the exploration of the inside of a body. No wonder Foucault, Deleuze's Other, was practicing fisting: is fist-fucking not the sexual invention of the twentieth century, a new model of eroticism and pleasure? It is no longer genitalized, but focused just on the penetration of the surface, with the role of the phallus being taken over by the hand, the autonomized partial object par excellence.

Read between the lines, zizek fistfucks children

neomarxists hate being labeled a neomarxist for some reason though, as they tend to be very finicky about preferred nomenclature.
