We are the only species with the ability to believe in shit that ain't real. We value what things represent rather than what they actually are. We can look at a drawing of a square with a triangle on it and go "oh that's a house," you can be a farmer and have that abstract concept become a part of your identity and it actually begins to affect how you think and act because to some extent the things you do as a person are going to be run through the filter of 'what a farmer would do'. Our money, the things we value, our gods, our art, are all just shit that we care about because it's generally agreed upon by other members of our species that it's valuable and we all just live this collective lie but it at the scale it's occurring on it doesn't really matter one way or another what is and isn't truth because we all agree on it.
