Why are you guys obsessed with him? The only remotely smart things he says are about Islam, everything else is common knowledge or nonsense.

Does it even matter anyways? Philosophy these days is a subset of science, which is a subset of math, which is a subset of Computer Science. So Sam Harris, Memerson, and company are nothing more than bits inside a supercomputer, which will get stored and forgotten along with all the other philosophers before them.

Sam is at his absolute best when he has some really interesting person on who is in the forefront of tech, and asks them questions on the ethical connotations for their work (like AI and CRISPR). He also had a fantastic show when he brings on security experts, medical experts, and think tank types that deal in edgy stuff like universal basic income.

He is at his absolute worst when HE speaks about philosophy, culture war, or religion. This is not a value judgement on his beliefs, I could listen to older Hitchens stuff easily, but Sam just isnt that insightful or WISE, as smart as he may be. Truly shit tier is when he shills meditation.

Oh, I've never watched any of his videos that weren't about religions. Could you post some links to his best?

The last one had extremely good information. I have very young kids, and the advice given is to not have them go to police if they are lost, because they may go to a security guard which has incredibly high abuse numbers. Instead have them go to a well dressed woman with kids if possible.
